Rehearsal and Performance Schedule

        Jan 23, 2012

OMG!!!  It will take a week for my heart to return to normal after yesterday's game!  OK, some important cahnges in our schedule.  After consulting with Cisco and Steve over the weekend, here is what we have come up with: There will be no January Full Ensemble rehearsal, meaning that there is no rehearsal this coming Saturday, Jan 28th.  The next few weeks play out as follows:  Drumline rehearsal on Jan 31st(any brass players or anyone for that matter is welcome at any of these rehearsals).  The next Brass rehearsal will be our usual rehearsal scheduled for Feb 3rd.  The February Full Ensemble rehearsa has been moved from Feb 18th to Feb 25th.  Please do your best to attend all rehearsals.  With our shortened rehearsal schedule, every rehearsal now becomes vital.
Donations to the Marie Shea fund will be collected at the next Drumline and Brass Rehearsals.  If you wish to bring a check, please make it payable to Northern Bank & Trust and then put Marie Shea Fund in the check memo area.  Thanks to all who wish to be a part of this most heartwarming and worthy effort.

Another great rehearsal last Friday folks!  We made it through "Russian Christmas" and it is really starting to take shape.  Thanks to all who attended.  Our next rehearsal is our first full ensemble rehearsal with the drumline and the out-of-staters.  Please make your attendance at this rehearsal a priority as we only have a few more rehearsals until out first performance in March.  Also, some home practice is necessary if we are to max out our performance.  Our new rehearsal schedule just does not allow us to deconstruct our music as we have been able to do in the past.  With only one rehearsal a month, it is vital that you come to rehearsal as prepared to play as you can.  The next rehearsal is on Saturday, January 21st from 1:00 to 4:00(pizza afterward!).

We have scheduled another performance.  It will be the Everett High School Evening of Flags & Percussion at Everett HS on Saturday night, April 14th.  This is in addition to the Buglers Hall of Fame, March 24th at the IBEW Electrical Workers Union Hall sponsored by St Kevin's.  We have scheduled 3 Full Ensemble rehearsals accordingly to be ready for those performances(see the schedule below).
A reminder that with our new schedule, it is vital that members come to rehearsal prepared to play what ever is on the syllabus for that rehearsal.  To that end, if you are not the best music reader, email Matt Warner at
warner-m@comcast.net and he will send you a sound file to listen to with your part on it, so no excuses.  Also, Matt has most of our music on a music program, so he can send you any parts that you might not have.
Once again, we encourage all to become members of the Prince Post. For $30, it is one way that we can thank them for our rehearsal venue.  Simply ask the bartender for a membership application.  Also, be sure to smile and tip your bartenders well if you use the bar.
We are changing the start time for our rehearsals to 7:30 moving forward.  If you can be a little early so that we can start on time, it would be much appreciated.  If 7:30 is a problem for you, just get there as soon as you can.
The syllabus for the next rehearsal is as follows: All of the music that we have gone over so far this year.  Now that we have them down, albeit roughly, we can now take some time to begin cleaning them up and making them as musical as we can.  We will put off learning "Children of Sanchez" intil the material that we have is learned, and we get "Georgia" and "Ol Man RIver" back in performance shape.
Mickey Trigilio has agreed to be our corps photographer as we need to update the photos on our website, so, if you see her poking through our rehearsals, cut her some slack as you now understand her intent.
Our permanent home is the Lt. Norman Prince VFW Post, 428 Main St. in Melrose, MA.  The Prince Post is one of the only drum corps friendly Posts that remain.  To thank the Post for their welcoming hospitality, we strongly urge all of our members to become members of the Post, and also to take part in the Post's efforts to support our men and women in uniform by donating books, and other items that the Post ships to our troops stationed overseas.  Also, please be sure to smile at the members and to tip your bartenders well!
On behalf of Cisco, Steve, and Myself, the staff and committee. we thank you for making The Legends what it has become.  Your talent and participation have sustained us for 14 years.  As we enter our 15th season we hope to provide a means for you to experince great music, great friendships, and a drum corps that is as non-intrusive into your personal lives as possible, yet offering as high a level of  perfomance experience as we can.

The e mail function of this website does not function.  If you want to get in touch with the Legends, contact Al "Cisco" Colleameno, Director, at alcisco@verizon.net or 781-397-9736; Steve Wolpe, Percussion Instructor, at stevewolpe@yahoo.com, or 508-400-1241; Mike Cahill, Brass Instructor, at mcahilldrum@verizon.net, or 978-448-3250
